Geoffroy van Raemdonck, CEO of Neiman Marcus, has a deep love for wine, which he considers to be his true luxury. He sees wine as more than just a beverage, but as a social moment that he enjoys with his husband and friends. Van Raemdonck talks about his wine collection and his favorite wine, Pontet-Canet from Pauillac, and also enjoys other hobbies like swimming, skiing, boating, and horseback riding.

But when he’s not indulging in his hobbies, van Raemdonck leads the $5 billion-a-year luxury retailer, Neiman Marcus Group. He starts his day at 6:15 a.m. with meditation, stretches, and breakfast with his family. He follows a strict routine and is very particular about his morning rituals, including savoring a cup of tea before transitioning to work with a shot of espresso. His work philosophy promotes flexibility, allowing him to work from home or travel when needed.

Van Raemdonck’s morning is filled with meetings, where he divides his time into short increments with breaks in between to stay focused and productive. He takes a short lunch break and another espresso shot to prepare for the afternoon. By 6:30 p.m., he spends time with his kids, with a brief return to work before finally ending his day by sending thank-you notes to remind himself to be a generous leader.
